Soldat is a 2D multi-player action game. The best thing about it is that the game is absolutely free. It looks like a game from several years back, but don't be fooled. Soldat is software that can run in any computer. The game is simple, you configure your soldier, and you are dropped in a 2D, side-scrolling map. You use the mouse to aim the cross-hairs, the arrow keys to move around, and the right mouse button to use a jet-pack. Now, the catch is that the game is multi-player, so the other pixel soldiers in the map are also real people (or bots in some cases). The map objectives go from basic Capture the Flag to fun Rambomatches, in total there are 7 game modes to choose from (CTF, Rambo, Hold the Flag, Pointmatch, Teammatch and Infiltration). The amount of maps created for the game is huge, for the first few times you won't find a map that looks alike. The sounds and graphics are good, considering the game is a 2D, low-resource, game. It is one of those games you can play for a quick rush of fun. Very recommendable.
